My 1st blog...

Howdy ya'll! Coming to you live, sort of, from Providence, RI. Recently moved here from Ithaca, NY via Austin, TX. I am a native Texan. Born and reared in the bustling metropolis of Waco, TX. Hewitt, TX to be exact. Austin seems to feel most like home to me but I'm enjoying the North East and actually being able to experience all four seasons.

I'm putting this blog out into cyberworld with the hope of creating something positive in these weird times. I'm a true believer of the ripple effect, pay it forward, karma...whatever you'd like to call it. So, even if this only benefits me I will pass that benefit onto others that I come into contact with.

Here's the word for the day. Egotistical. Here are a couple of definitions:

adjective
1. characteristic of those having an inflated idea of their own importance [syn: egotistic] 2. characteristic of false pride; having an exaggerated sense of self-importance; "a conceited fool"; "an attitude of self-conceited arrogance"; "an egotistical disregard of others"; "so swollen by victory that he was unfit for normal duty"; "growing ever more swollen-headed and arbitrary"; "vain about her clothes" [syn: conceited]

Anyone out there guilty of this? I know I am. Imagine what the world would be like if we let that inflated idea go. Let's do this. Let's take a moment to metaphorically step out of our shoes and into someone else's. Doesn't matter who. Your parents, sibling, wife, husband, friend, stranger. All these people basically have the same ideas, wants, needs, hopes. Stay there for a while and just breathe and realize that we as individuals are not the most important thing but the community, and funny how 'unity' is part of community, is the most important thing.

This is a work in progress and would appreciate feedback and/or topics that we should discuss.

Peace, Love and Consciousness.
